A major barrier to the transition away from mercury use in artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) is the typical lack of formalization in the sector. The planetGOLD programme aims to pilot innovative and holistic approaches to formalization, such as the Jurisdictional Approach (JA) / Landscape Approach (LA).
This work will build capacity among planetGOLD country level projects via trainings/workshops and supporting documents, to enable projects to pilot JA/LA approaches.
This web page will be continuously updated with relevant documents, recordings of webinars and trainings, and other useful materials regarding JA/LA approaches.
Webinar Series:
Conservation International, Conservation Strategy Fund, EcoAgriculture Partners and Rainforest Alliance will deliver a series of webinars on a range of synergistic landscape and mining related tools to support planetGOLD projects in piloting JA/LA approaches in their country.
