This report provides a description of the three key pillars of the Road map for enhancing co-benefits from implementation of the Minamata Convention and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and advancing overall coherence across the mercury and biodiversity agendas.
This curriculum is intended to introduce the ASGM sector to potential financiers and investors. These teaching and learning materials are meant to be used as basic materials than can be modified and adapted to suit the investor audience.
While the ASGM sector is present across Peru, the department of Madre de Dios is the epicenter of illicit alluvial gold extraction and the accompanying deforestation. This case study examines the complex drivers behind ASGM sector expansion, the devastating impacts on biodiversity in the region, and the strategies implemented to address the impacts of ASGM in Madre de Dios by the Government of Peru.
Prepared by the International Labour Organization (ILO) these guidelines on OSH management systems guidelines were developed according to internationally agreed principles defined by the ILO’s tripartite constituents. The practical recommendations of these guidelines are intended for use by all those who have responsibility for occupational safety and health management.
