The planetGOLD Mongolia project handed its knowledge products, such as policy reports and brochures, to the Central Library of Ulaanbaatar and the National University of Mongolia's Library in both hard and soft versions according to its exit strategy.

The Joint Implementation Committees were set up within fourteen days after the State Department for Environment and Climate Change signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the County Governments of Migori, Kakamega, Narok, and Vihiga. These committees are crucial for the planetGOLD Kenya project's success and its long-term sustainability.

During the implementation of the planetGOLD Kenya project, we gained valuable insights into the importance of targeted site and group selection. These lessons played a critical role in shaping the project's success, enabling us to direct our efforts in the most impactful ways while ensuring active community involvement and fostering long-term sustainability.

Over 200 participants from government, civil society, and mining communities gathered in Quezon City on March 7, 2025, to celebrate women’s contributions to environmental sustainability and inclusive economic development. Co-organized by planetGOLD Philippines with UNIDO Philippines, the event featured powerful sessions on women in ASGM, transport, and health. Highlights included a panel of women miners, the launch of the Mina Minera storybook and an original advocacy song, and the recognition of ASGM women champions across the country.

The Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) sector plays a key role in Kenya’s economy. It supports the livelihoods of thousands of miners nationwide. However, the sector has long been faced by several challenges. This includes environmental degradation, unsafe mining practices, and the heavy use of toxic chemicals such as mercury. The planetGOLD Kenya project, aims to address these issues by creating a mercury-free, sustainable future for the ASGM sector. This article explores key lessons learned from the project’s journey, particularly in successfully fostering collaboration with county governments.

The Sagada Mercury-Free Processing System (MFPS) installed by the planetGOLD Philippines Project, was officially turned over to the Northern Sagada Barangay Small-Scale Miners Association, marking a major milestone in promoting responsible, mercury-free gold mining in the Philippines. The facility showcases safer, cleaner gold processing methods and highlights the power of community-led sustainable development.
