This study of mercury levels in women from four Latin American communities is the latest compilation of data in IPEN’s global mercury biomonitoring program. Hair samples were taken from women living in or near the mining towns of Vila Nova, Brazil, El Callao, Venezuela, Íquira, Colombia, and two groups living in Bolvia's Beni river system. 

Oro Legal remains USAID’s largest and most ambitious bilateral initiative in support of ASGM and was implemented in two of Colombia’s emblematic mining departments — Antioquia and Chocó — between September 2015 and April 2021.

This mapping research shares key learnings and recommendations to address child labour in ASM drawn from Levin Source's latest report, in which they mapped existing interventions to address child labour and poor working conditions in the ASM sector in order to extract lessons learned and gaps from existing projects and initiatives that aim to address child labour.

Mining has become one of the key economic drivers of terrorist activity in West and Central Africa, with independent reports showing a clear link between unregulated mining operations and terror groups. The OECD has a number of plans to tackle these relationships, but,  how effective can an independent organisation truly be?

The international workshop "Successful Experiences in Responsible ASGM" was held between January 11 and 15, 2021, more than 30 mining organizations and international public and private institutions in Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Indonesia, Honduras, and Peru shared their successful experiences in adopting clean technologies, as well as implementing best practices in ASGM.

This study examines patterns of mining-related deforestation associated with formalization efforts in a gold-rich region of the Peruvian Amazon. It found that responses to formalization varied with changing context and while formalization may curb mining in some circumstances, it may exacerbate it in others. Without adequate enforcement, interagency coordination, and attention to competing land claims, formalizing ASM may accelerate ecological destruction.

ЭЗХАХБ-ын тус удирдамжид багтсан Цагаан тугалга, Тантал, Вольфрам, Алт зэрэг эрдэс баялгийн талаарх нэмэлт хавсралт зөвлөмжүүд нь компаниудын хувьд дээрх эрдэс баялгийг зөрчил мөргөлдөөн үүсгэх зорилгоор бус энх тайван болон хөгжил дэвшлийг дэмжих зорилгоор хариуцлагатайгаар худалдан борлуулахад нь дэмжлэг үзүүлэх иж бүрэн  хэрэгсэл болно.
