    Mongolia: Impacts of COVID-19 are currently low, but uncertainty in Artisanal Gold Mining Communities remains high

    To date, the number of reported COVID-19 infections in Mongolia low, and miners and gold traders say local gold prices have not yet been strongly affected.     ASGM in the time of COVID-19

    In recent months, the global economy has been paralyzed by the COVID-19 pandemic. A new paper published by planetGOLD Peru puts a focus on the country's artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) sector, providing an analysis of the effects of the pandemic so far. The national coordinator for the project also proposes seven recommendations to facilitate the sector's reactivation and formalization process.
