Los equipos del proyecto que trabajan en planetGOLD en Perú y Colombia viajaron a Ecuador recientemente para reunirse con socios estratégicos, planificar actividades conjuntas y compartir buenas prácticas.

With the aim of promoting safe, clean and profitable small-scale gold mining in the Andes region, the project teams working on planetGOLD in Peru and Colombia traveled to Ecuador last month to meet with partners working there, to plan joint activities and share good practices.

Se realizó el taller de inicio del proyecto planetGOLD Perú “Gestión Integrada del Mercurio en la Minería de Oro Artesanal y de Pequeña Escala en el Perú” implementada por el MINAM en alianza con el MINEM, con el apoyo técnico del PNUD y el GEF. El programa planetGOLD tiene como objetivo reducir y/o eliminar las emisiones y liberaciones de mercurio del sector de minería de oro artesanal y de pequeña escala.

Today the inception workshop of the planetGOLD Peru project “Integrated Mercury Management in Artisanal and Small-scale Gold Mining in Peru” was implemented by Peru's Ministry of the Environment (MINAM) in partnership with Peru's Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), with technical support from the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
