This year, we celebrated #EarthMonth2023 with the theme "Invest in Our Planet," which focused on engaging governments, institutions, businesses, and the more than 1 billion citizens who annually support Earth Day to do their part–everyone accounted for, everyone accountable. To highlight the voices from the communities and different sectors involved in creating a safer, cleaner, and more profitable ASGM industry in the country, planetGOLD Philippines featured people who shared their insights, hopes, and dreams on how protecting our planet can go hand-in-hand with sustainable small-scale mining.

The project covers nine Sub-Counties that collaborate with relevant regional government agencies, county governments, and mining communities to support the industry's formalization by setting up channels for artisanal miners to access information on lowering mercury use and encouraging ethical mining practices.
