Coexistence between SSM and LSM can be possible as shown through recent activities in San Roque, Antioquia. The implementation of the Sustainable Mines Program resulted in seven subcontracts and which directly benefits over 350 miners and their families.

En este marco, se desarrollaron dos modelos financieros y fiscales para un proyecto de minería de pequeña escala aluvial y otro subterránea. Se consideraron para ello los regímenes fiscales de Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú y Honduras, y se sumó la posibilidad de integrar estimaciones de las externalidades medioambientales y sociales derivadas del proyecto.

This video presents findings on the potential roles of financial institutions in promoting responsible minerals trade from conflict-affected and high-risk areas, as well as the current barriers to that engagement. The research maps current financial flows in the Great Lakes Region, identifies key 3T and gold sector structural issues, analyzes the barriers to financial access for the artisanal minerals sector, and suggests six options for the design of a facility to improve ASM access to finance as well as other recommendations.
