This pamphlet highlights the key outcomes of the planetGOLD Mongolia project, showcasing achievements in formalizing the artisanal and small-scale gold mining sector, improving access to responsible gold markets, promoting mercury-free technologies, strengthening gender equality, and building capacity among miners and local authorities. It also highlights extensive awareness-raising efforts through public campaigns, educational events, and knowledge materials to inform and engage stakeholders on responsible mining and the dangers of mercury use. The pamphlet reflects the collaborative efforts of national and international stakeholders to
This technical geological assessment report presents the findings from the geological fieldwork conducted in the Minahang Bayan (“MBP”) of Paracale in April 2022. The objective is to provide an outline of the artisanal exploitable mineral resources in the small-scale gold mining site in MBP, Camarines Norte. This document is designed to serve as the geological basis for the development of practical recommendations and strategies for the mining and processing of the mineral resources in MBP using mercury free technology.
This technical geological assessment r report presents the findings from the geological fieldwork conducted in the Tunkhel village area and Mandal soum, Selenge province conducted in May 2022. The objective is to provide an outline of the artisanal exploitable mineral resources for the two small-scale gold mining (“ASGM”) operations from the planetGOLD Mongolia project in the Selenge Province.

This report summarizes and analyzes gaps in the available educational and training material from projects and initiatives dealing with occupational safety and health (OSH) in the artisanal and small-scale mining (ASGM) sector. The review focused on cataloguing the various technical aspects of occupational safety and health that are covered by the materials, but also examined the presentation of strategies and methodologies to manage hazard exposure, communication and awareness raising.
The report is available to download in English, French and Spanish.
Three additional related materials on occupational safety and health and ASGM are included
This report highlights findings from existing literature on occupational safety and health (OSH) in artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM). A comprehensive literature review confirms the multiplicity of inherent hazards in ASM, compromised OSH and gendered disparities pointing to the urgent need for enhanced OSH measures tailored to gendered OSH needs as well as the unique challenges faced in the sector.
Through analyzing current conditions and identifying gaps in OSH, this report seeks to provide a roadmap and actionable recommendations for improving miners' health and safety outcomes for both men and women across various ASM contexts.

This report compiles five case studies highlighting innovative approaches to improving occupational safety and health (OSH) in artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM). Across different countries and contexts, these initiatives demonstrate practical strategies for addressing safety risks, enhancing working conditions, and fostering greater awareness among miners.
The report is available to download in English, French or Spanish.
Three additional related materials in this series on OSH and ASGM are included at the bottom of this page.

This handbook documents the technologies that the planetGOLD Kenya project proposes to demonstrate in their six gold processing training sites in Kakamega, Vihiga, Migori, and Narok counties.
A potential source of formal finance for the ASGM sector may be Socially Responsible Investors (SRIs). For SRIs to engage in ASGM they need to be aware of the sector and be willing to consider it for future investment. This report summarizes efforts undertaken as part of the planetGOLD global project to increase awareness and understanding of the sector among the SRI community, with a goal of growing the pool of SRIs who may consider working with the ASGM sector in the future to strengthen livelihoods and enable improved environmental, social, and economic outcomes.
