This pocketbook has been developed to help artisanal miners keep track of elements regarding their mining operations and activities over time in order to maintain a comprehensive and accurate log. The objective is to facilitate the financial inclusion of miners and provide support in practicing better book keeping. This product is also available in French.

The planetGOLD Mongolia project introduced the new systems that are designed as 100% gravimetric technology without using any chemicals in Mongolia's ASGM sector.

A growing number of governments and donors are promoting the formalization of artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM). They believe that doing so puts them in a better position to govern the sector, and manage the social and environmental impacts of its activities. This paper reflects critically on attempts made to formalize ASM in Madre de Dios in Peruvian Amazonia.

Diamond and gold mining has been practiced by artisanal miners in the Central African Republic (CAR) for decades. The recent introduction of riverine dredges indicates a transition from artisanal/manual digging and sorting techniques to small-scale mining methods. This study implements a remote sensing analysis of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data to map gold and diamond dredges operating on the Kadéï (Sangha) river in the CAR.
This technical report was prepared to assess the geological potential of the 130 km2 Djarkadougou Nord permit, located in south-west Burkina Faso in West Africa. The geological potential of the Djarkadougou North permit and its gold mineralization content has been proven for a long time. This study area, containing many artisanal gold mining sites, should allow the discovery of other economically exploitable gold mineralization, by the associations of artisanal miners from the villages located inside the permit and more specifically, that of village of Djarkadougou and the other small villages located within the boundaries of the study area.
