Нямаа-бичил уурхайчин, Бямбаа-алтны хүдэр боловсруулагч, Баатар-алтны худалдаачин. Энэ гурван найз бүгд л зөв зүйтэй байж, хууль ёсоор ажиллаж аж амьдралаа авч явахыг хичээж байна. Эрхэлж буй үйл ажиллагааных нь онцлогоос хамаарч тэдэнд учирч буй саад тотгор бүр нь өөр өөр боловч тэр гурав гурвуулаа энэ салбарын албажуулалтын бодлого зохицуулалтыг гайхан, эргэлзэж байна.

The three friends—Nyamaa, the miner; Byambaa, who processes ore; and Baatar, the gold trader—are all striving to do what's right and earn a living through formal and legal ways. Even though the obstacles and difficulties they face in their own type of business are different, all three are questioning the current ways of formalizing the ASGM sector in Mongolia.

The planetGOLD Mongolia project is the first "gardener” to start actively planting the planetGOLD criteria standard on Mongolian soil, which is a branched-out version of the CRAFT Code (The Code of Risk-mitigation for Artisanal and small-scale Mining Engaging in Formal Trade), another further international standard.

After nearly three years of waiting, new artisanal and small-scale mining regulations have been approved by the Government of Mongolia. In September 2019 the Government had suspended key clauses of the ASM regulations until they was revised, leading to a freeze on issuing new ASM land permits and discontinuation of existing mining contracts. The planetGOLD Mongolia project was included in a taskforce led by the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry for revising and developing the new ASM regulations.

The planetGOLD Mongolia project advocated for a responsible artisanal gold supply chain and investment opportunities during the country’s first-ever Precious Metals and Jewellery Forum and Expo in April 2022.

The planetGOLD Mongolia project published the article ‘ARTISANAL GOLD: Opportunities For Responsible Investment’ in the March 2021 issue of the Mongolian Mining Journal in English and in the ‘Daily News’ newspaper in Mongolian on March 30th.
