Mercury: The Largest Risk Groups

As part of the health campaign “Working Together Toward Healthier Gold Communities,” planetGOLD Suriname, in collaboration with Medische Zending Primary Health Care Suriname (MZPHCS), developed this story-based visual to raise awareness about the health risks associated with mercury exposure.

The visual highlights groups that are particularly vulnerable to mercury exposure and helps communities better understand why these groups require extra protection. Using clear illustrations and accessible messages, the material supports community awareness and encourages safer practices in and around artisanal and small-scale gold mining areas.
