ILACO will lead the ESIA process, which includes the preparation of an Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) and a Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP)โ key instruments for guiding sustainable practices and strengthening community participation.
The ESIA plays a vital role in promoting responsible and sustainable gold mining in Suriname. By identifying potential environmental and social impacts early on, the study allows partners to design effective strategies to minimize harm, protect ecosystems, and enhance the well-being of local communities.
