planetGOLD Mongolia Project Closing Event

The closing event of the planetGOLD Mongolia project will take place on May 20, 2025, in Ulaanbaatar. This event will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders—including miner representatives, government officials, international organizations, technical experts, and private sector actors—to celebrate the project’s achievements and reflect on key lessons learned.
Opening remarks will be delivered by representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Mongolia (MECC), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the NRDC.
The agenda will feature presentations and a panel discussion, including:
- Project Results: Objectives, Milestones, Outcomes & Sustainability
Ms. Khishgee Dondov, Project Manager, planetGOLD Mongolia - Mercury-Free Processing Systems
Mr. Byambasuren Odgerel, Technologist Engineer, planetGOLD Mongolia
A panel discussion on "Sustainability of Project Results & Future Perspectives" will include representatives from MECC, the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia (MRPAM), the Bank of Mongolia, Mandal Governor’s Office, the Artisanal and Small-scale Mining National Federation (ASM NF), and planetGOLD Mongolia.
The event will conclude with a project outcomes video and closing remarks from the Artisanal Gold Council (AGC) and miner representatives.
The project outcomes video will be shared on the planetGOLD YouTube channel following the event.
