On Thursday, November 6 the planetGOLD programme and the World Bank’s Africa Environmental Health and Pollution Management Programme (AEHPMP) invited attendees of the Minamata Convention on Mercury COP-6 to join a Knowledge Lab on empowering women in artisanal and small-scale gold mining.
Those in attendance heard from planetGOLD Bolivia and from AEHPMP projects in Ghana and Tanzania as they shared tools, strategies, and stories of partnering with women miners to improve opportunities and working conditions through training and technical support.
